The Sham Fight in Scarva has been re-enacted in various forms for around 200 years. Initially to commemorate a local "battle" before developing into - firstly an official Orange Order parade and later the respected and highly acclaimed 13th July Royal Black Procession - recognised across the world.

In 2009, Banbridge 'folk artist' Bruce White was commissioned to capture, in acrylics, the spirit and essence of this spectacle. This unique painting provides a permanent record of the tremendous 're-enactment' that unfolds each year. Set against the serene backdrop of Scarvagh House, the artist has successfully brought all of the 'key players' together - King William and King James on the banks of the Boyne, the Grand Old Spanish Chestnut under which King William slept 'en route' to the Boyne, the Flags, Guns and Smoke, the respective Armies - in fact, everything that one would associate with Scarva on the 13th July.

The original painting, held in trust by the Imperial Grand Black Chapter, is on display in the Institution's Headquarters, Brownlow House, Lurgan, Co. Armagh, BT67 9BJ, Northern Ireland.

This offering presents an opportunity for Individuals, Private Preceptories, District Preceptories and Grand Black Chapters to secure a unique portrayal of a historic event of International significance and is guaranteed not to be reprinted. This production and print distribution has the full support of the Imperial Grand Black Chapter of the British Commonwealth.
